At Casa de las Orquideas' Seedling Sale

6/1/2018

Went to the seedling sale at Casa de las Orquideas recently.  If you've never been to their sale, you should go.  They had great seedlings and mature plants for sale.  They are known for their spotted and brilliantly-colored Cymbidiums as well as their Zygopetalums.  The business is a family-owned, and I enjoyed visiting with Miki, Karl and Nancy Batchman.  I walked down to one of the main greenhouses where another customer had a stunning tangerine-colored Cymbidium with a spotted red lip set aside.  I knew I had to have one!  It was called  Cym. Magic Lantern "Prolific".  Can't wait until it blooms!  I ended  up taking home a boxful of plants.  While there, I ran into SDCCS members Lena Shiroma and Alex Nadzan - they too were enjoying the sale and both took home numerous plants.
