The Cymbidium Congress, will take place on Saturday, March 14. Highlights include lectures by Brandon Tam, Arthur Pinkers, Ken Jacobsen and others, an awards banquet, an auction of unusual orchids, and unlimited access to the Santa Barbara International Orchid Show. Santa Barbara Orchid Estate and Cal Orchid, two nurseries in the Santa Barbara area, will be open this weekend even though the big show has been cancelled. Santa Barbara Orchid Estate has almost every orchid imaginable (visit their website, https://sborchid.com/) and during shows offers a selection of orchids for only $7.50 each. Cal Orchid is known for their showy Epidendrums, Laelia anceps, Neofinetia falcata and more ( www.calorchid.com). Other nurseries in the area will be open as well (http://californiaorchidtrail.com/).
